“Our next number under the F is F7. And our fraud prevention tip is, Low risk and high returns do not go hand in hand.” “FRAUD!” “It looks like we have a winner!”
During Fraud Prevention Month in March the Nova Scotia Securities Commission is expanding our partnership with the Halifax Public Libraries by holding a Fraud Bingo event at the Halifax Central Library.
On Tuesday, March 31 from 2-3 p.m. join us in the BMO Room at the Central Library for Fraud Bingo. Fraud Bingo is a fun program developed by the North American Securities Administrators Association and run locally by NSSC to make learning about investment fraud prevention more fun and engaging.
Fraud Bingo players have a chance to win small prizes while learning about investment fraud prevention. The game follows a traditional bingo format, but BINGO is replaced with FRAUD: instead of yelling “BINGO!”, winners shout “FRAUD!” All FRAUD numbers called include fraud prevention tips and information.
In you will be attending on March 31 please note a limited number of bingo daubers and highlighters for stamping numbers will be available for use at the event, but please bring your own daubers if you have them.
NSSC also host Fraud Bingo games for local groups. If your group or organization is interested in hosting a Fraud Bingo game, and/or a presentation on investment fraud, please contact us. An information sheet on Fraud Bingo can be found on our website here.
