June is Seniors Month. Throughout the month, the Nova Scotia Securities Commission will be sharing investor education content relevant to seniors and their families on our website and social media channels and delivering presentations to seniors’ groups. Here is a closer look at some of the content and presentations we have scheduled.
Look for our annual blog post recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Monday, June 15. This post will share financial elder abuse information and links to other content you can share with friends and family to protect them from financial elder abuse.

Nova Scotia Securities Commission Presentations


The Commission has several presentations and Fraud Bingo games scheduled during Seniors Month as follows:
On Wednesday, June 3, from 2:00-3:30 p.m., Commission staff will deliver a presentation on investment fraud and play Fraud Bingo with residents of Parkland Clayton Park.
On Thursday, June 4, starting at 2 p.m. Commission staff will play Fraud Bingo with members of Seniors Connect NS.
On Wednesday, June 10, from 2-3 p.m. Commission staff will play Fraud Bingo with residents of Gordon B. Isnor Manor.
On Thursday, June 18, from 7-8 p.m. Commission staff will be visiting the Halifax Central Library to talk about financial elder abuse and investment fraud.
On Wednesday, June 24 Commission staff will be visiting Spencer House from 1-2 p.m. to deliver a presentation on investment fraud prevention and to play Fraud Bingo.
In July, the Commission will also be visiting Parkland at the Gardens on July 10 to deliver a presentation on investment fraud and play Fraud Bingo with residents
